He who covers his sins shall not be blessed; but whoever confesses and leaves them shall have mercy.
(Proverbs 28:13)
All of us want to enjoy the blessing and favour of God upon our lives. But what can hinder us from living the blessed life that God wants to give us? One of the things can be unconfessed sin! Often it can seem so easy to just ”keep quiet” and believe that it will be so much better not to tell anything. If he/she finds out, I’m dead!
Still the question we need to answer is really: ”What does God want me to do?” What is most important; to please God or to please man? The right answer is God. So even though the consequences and the cost might seem extreme when it deals with confessing your sin – we are first of all living for God. Confess your sin and get rid of it now, rather than letting it be that you have to speak about it with God on judgement day.
And as your sin is confessed you can enjoy the fantastic joy and freedom of a clean conscience.
And say to them, So says Jehovah, the God of Israel, Cursed is the man who does not obey the Words of this covenant, which I commanded your fathers in the day that I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, from the iron furnace, saying, Obey My voice and do them according to all that I command you; so you shall be My people, and I will be your God; so that I may fulfil the oath which I have sworn to your fathers, to give them a land flowing with milk and honey, as it is this day. Then I answered and said, Amen, O Jehovah.
(Jeremiah 11:3-5)
It is blessed to be obedient to God!
“One act of obedience is better than one hundred sermons”
