Martin Olsson was tired of life. Why am I living? This question made him depressed. But one day he experienced something turning his life upside down.
He was 21 years old and lived a normal life in a small place in Sweden called Savsjö, working as an electrician and living in his own apartement. All seemed to be perfect, but on the inside he started to get worried. What is life about? He didn`t find satisfaction in the way he was living. It was all about eat, work and sleep. This didn`t gave any answer to his questions about life.
Could there be a God? Why am I living? Searching for answers, he didn`t find anything to give him peace. Instead he got depressed and isolated himself more and more from the world. He got problems with his work, by often coming to late and he wasn`t able to work as hard as he should.
Martin got psykiske problems and he felt the days became harder and harder. He had no idea of who to ask for help. He was in a position of giving up. But one evening he took his phone and called his sister, telling her everything about his life.
He knew she was a believer in Jesus, but they had never spoke about these things before. Martin told her about his depression and all the problems. His sister had not mentioned God in the conversation at all, when she suddenly asked: “May I pray for you?”
She started to pray in the name of Jesus. Suddenly something happened. God moved into Martin`s life and in a moment every depression and all bad feelings was taken away. He was free. It was a miracle. He had never before experienced something like this. Martin was totally changed by his sister praying for him by phone. This experience turned his life upside down. He felt like in a condition of chock. He knew he was changed by the power of God.
The day after a friend called him. There was a big christian youth conference in the city and Martin was invited to come. He decided to go there. Coming to the meeting, he was met by hundreds of youth people praising the Lord. He got to hear about Jesus dying on the cross for our sin, sicknesses and problems. This evening Martin gave his life to Jesus. He started a new life as follower of Jesus.
Martin says: No matter how far down you may feel. God is just one prayer away. Open up your heart for God. And don’t wait until you reach the bottom. Receive Jesus as your saviour today.
Today Martin is 23 years, working as a missionary in Budapest. Every day he is bringing the good news about Jesus out to the people.
