Step on the chicken!

Be clear-minded and alert. Your opponent the devil is prowling around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour (1.Pet.5:8)

We very often have a high confession and speak greatly of how great our God is. He won the victory over death, he defeated the devil and his powers and gave us all an open door into heaven! That’s the gospel, the good news!

Simultaneously as we preach this, many Christians live in an opposite way. Knowing about the victory, they still walk around all their lives fighting. They complain about the devil. They speak of all his tricks, methods and study him up and down and in and out! It is nothing wrong in knowing about the devil and knowing his strategies. The Bible in fact encourages us to know about it (2. Corinthians 2:11). Still we need to understand what we read in the verses above! ”Your opponent the devil is prowling around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.” Some facts derived from the Bible verse:

1)      Our opponent is the devil
2)     He wants to devour us
3)     He is roaring LIKE a lion

We have an enemy, and he is roaring. He is roaring like a lion! But do you know the truth? He is just a little chicken. He tries to make himself big, ugly and scary so we Christians will run away. But, because of what Jesus did on the cross he has no power, unless we give him. When I go in, the devil goes out. He can shout as loud as he wants to, but he is and will forever remain – a little chicken! Do not be scared, but stand strong – keep on running and let nothing come in your way and stop you from finishing the race God has started in you!

As we march looking unto Jesus, the chicken might try to roar. But as we keep focusing in Jesus we will just step on the chicken and move on!
